Slocum & Sons celebrated the addition of the wines of Domaine de Bila-Haut to its portfolio with a launch party at its headquarters in North Haven on October 18. Along with Alexander Grey and Carole Decouard of Sera Wine Imports, Winemaker Maxim Chapoutier visited the Slocum & Sons sales team, telling the story of his wines made from grapes grown in the Roussillon region of France. The sales team tasted through several wines, which are organic and biodynamically produced, including M. Chapoutier Bila-Haut Blanc and Rosé, Cotes du Roussillon Rouge, Occultum Lapidem Rouge and Blanc and the very rare, highly rated parcellaire wines VIT and RI. Domaine Bila-Haut was purchased by the Chapoutier family in 1999. Slocum & Sons is the exclusive distributor of Bila-Haut, which began in November.
