North Haven’s Slocum & Sons introduced its sales team to new vintages from Italian wineries Casanova di Neri and Vietti during a sales meeting on Feb. 12. During the livestream, Gianlorenzo Neri from Casanova di Neri discussed the Montalcino winery’s latest vintages, its 2016 Casanova di Neri Tenuta Nuova Brunello di Montalcino and 2015 Casanova di Neri Cerretalto di Montalcino, the latter receiving a 100-point rating from wine critic James Suckling. Established in 1971, the Montalcino-based Casanova di Neri is run by the second and third generations of the Neri family, Giacomo Neri and his sons, Giovanni and Gianlorenzo. The winery is known for its award-winning, single-vineyard Brunellos. Next, Vietti Winemaker Luca Currado and his wife, Elena, who manages public relations and marketing for the winery, discussed their latest wine release, 2017 Vietti Barolo Crus. Located in the village of Castiglione Falletto, in the Barolo zone, Vietti winery began producing wine in the late 19th century. Today, the winery produces award-winning wines from grapes indigenous to Piemonte, including Timorasso, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Moscato and more.
