Moët Hennessy Buys Stake in Jay-Z’s Champagne Brand

By March 26, 2021Top News

Moët Hennessy partnered with Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter through the acquisition of a 50% stake in Armand de Brignac, a leader in prestige champagne. The partnership “reflects a shared vision between Moët Hennessy and [Carter] for the future of the iconic Maison,” said a statement. With its striking look and appeal to a global and diverse luxury consumer since 2006, Armand de Brignac has sold more than 500,000 bottles in 2019 alone and has a strong presence in North America, Asia and Europe. The partnership will be anchored in the acquisition of a 50% stake in Armand de Brignac by Moët Hennessy, as well as in a global distribution agreement. The 50%-50% structure is an essential element of this alliance and ensures that each of the two partners wants to bring its strengths and expertise.
