Tao Asian Bistro & Lounge
Mohegan Sun, Casino of the Sky
1 Mohegan Sun Boulevard
Montville, CT

With its distinctively luxe-feeling ambiance and authentic Pan-Asian cuisine, Tao Asian Bistro & Lounge offers guests an unforgettable dining experience. Located in a 10,000-square-foot space within Mohegan Sun, Tao is the latest U.S. destination to join the franchise, becoming a magnet for tourists and celebrities alike since it opened in March 2021. All entrées are created from classic Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes using traditional techniques and ingredients, all enjoyed under the gaze of a 16-foot-tall Quan Yin statue anchoring the main dining room. A koi pond and water walls add to the fine dining experience. Tao’s beverage program includes crowd-pleasing craft cocktails and a range of sakes to pair with menu items, along with beer and high-end wine selections. A guest favorite, The Sensei cocktail, is “the perfect drink to jumpstart an evening or enjoy after hours,” said Tao General Manager Brian Napiany. “This cocktail is great with signature dishes, such as the Lobster Wontons, Peking Duck and Surf and Turf.”

Cocktail: The Sensei

Ingredients:
» 1 oz. Elijah Craig ‘TAO Edition’ Single Barrel Bourbon
» 1 oz. Don Ciccio & Figli Walnut Liqueur
» 1 oz. Amaro delle Sirene
» 2 dashes orange bitters

Method: Combine all ingredients in a glass and stir. Fill another glass with a giant ice cube, then pour the cocktail over the ice. Garnish with an orange peel.

“The Sensei was born out of a love for Manhattans and Italian herbal liqueurs,” General Manager Brian Napiany said. “We swapped out the traditional sweet vermouth for the Amaro delle Sirene, adding earthy notes of chicory and chamomile. The walnut liqueur brings all the flavors together while highlighting the oak and nut flavors loved by all in the single barrel Elijah Craig, exclusive to Tao at Mohegan Sun.”
