The inaugural community cleanup for the “Nip It in the Bin!” initiative took place at Norwalk’s Veterans Memorial Park on October 20. Volunteers from the wine and spirits industry spent an afternoon cleaning up litter and beautifying the landscape of the park as part of efforts to reduce waste, including that from 50ml “nip” bottles. Don’t Trash Connecticut – Nip it in the Bin! is a five-year initiative between Three Tiers for Connecticut, a new not-for-profit organization representing the three tiers of the wine and spirits industry including suppliers, wholesalers and Connecticut’s package store retailers, in collaboration with nonprofit Live Green Connecticut.
