The United States Bartenders Guild team from Rhode Island took top honors at the recent Northeast Regional Shakedown Cocktail Competition in Pittsburgh, PA during March’s regional conference, a three-day event. Three members of each competing chapter had nine minutes to complete three cocktails using one of the spirits provided as the base spirit, with the mixers and modifying ingredients provided for the competition. Joseph Haggard of The Grange, Jennifer Ferreira of Lucas Bols, and Jay Carr of The Eddy competed from the USBG RI for the win. The competition sponsors included Stoli, Bacardi, Diageo, Bittercube Bitters and other partnering brands.
