The Champagne Bureau USA reported in March that 23,714,793 bottles of Champagne were shipped to the United States in 2018, an increase of 2.7 percent from 2017. This marks the sixth consecutive year of growth in Champagne shipments to the United States. Additionally, the value of these shipments reached more than $652 million in 2018, the highest of any country outside of France. The United States is the second-largest export market for Champagne behind the United Kingdom, and the largest outside of Europe in terms of volume. At the same time, the United States is the number one export market in terms of the total value of the Champagne shipments that crossed its borders. Worldwide, Champagne shipments totaled 301.9 million bottles with a record value of more than $5.5 billion.
