Women in Hospitality Series Relaunch/RIHA @ NYLO Hotel Providence/Warwick

The Rhode Island Hospitality Association will relaunch its “Women in Hospitality” series at NYLO Hotel Providence/Warwick on June 26, 2018. Series attendees will have the chance to learn from and network with a diverse group of women in the hospitality industry. Feedback given during the event will be used by RI Hospitality to help shape the future of the Women in Hospitality Council. Refreshments will be provided by NYLO on its deck overlooking the Pawtuxet River.

Elm City Brewfest @ College Street Music Hall

The fourth-annual Elm City Brewfest, featuring over 225 craft beers from over 60 craft breweries, returns to College Street Music Hall on November 17, 2018.  Live entertainment will be provided by Jason Ingriselli and Lyon Street Fire. RIHA’s Annual “Stars of the Industry” Awards @ Twin River Casino

The Rhode Island Hospitality Association’s 2018 “Stars of the Industry” awards dinner and ceremony will take place Wednesday, November 28, 2018. Created more than 29 years ago, the award ceremony is hosted by the RI Hospitality Association and RI Hospitality Education Foundation to recognize shining stars in the restaurant and hospitality industries. Exactly 906 industry professionals attended last year’s event from across all sectors of the trade. Recipients are nominated by their leaders, coworkers and customers. Awards are given in more than 20 categories. Winners are voted on by the public and elected officials of the board. For more information, visit the association website.

Distilled Spirits Council Webinar: Cocktails To-Go @ Online

The Distilled Spirits Council will host a webinar, Cocktails To-Go: What You Need to Know, Part 1 on September 1, 2020. Open to both industry stakeholders and consumers, the webinar seeks to educate participants on the role of cocktails to-go in helping bars & restaurants survive COVID-19 and how consumers can support their favorite businesses safely and responsibly at home. Participants will learn what steps the hospitality industry has taken to ensure responsible service and delivery to prevent impaired driving and underage drinking.

Panelists will include Chris Swonger, President and CEO of Distilled Spirits Council of the United States, Steven Casstevens, President of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Chief Buffalo Grove Police Department; Jonathan Adkins, Executive Director of the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA); Suzanne Bohle, Executive Director of the Council of State Restaurant Association Executives; Sarah Bratko, Vice President of Advocacy and General Counsel at Rhode Island Hospitality Association and Rhode Island Hospitality Education Foundation; and Adam Chafetz, President of TIPs.
