Connecticut Companies Medal in International Spirits Competition

Multiple Connecticut-based and -represented spirits companies earned medals at the 2020 New York International Spirits Competition (NYISC). From Stamford-based Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, Double Gold medals were awarded to Redemption Barrel Proof Bourbon and Redemption High Rye Bourbon; Silver medals were awarded to Bib & Tucker Small Batch Bourbon and Luksusowa Vodka. Mystic-based Fishers Island Lemonade earned a Silver medal. Centerbook-based Highclere Castle Spirits earned a Silver medal for its Highclere Castle Gin. Litchfield Distillery earned several awards: Silver medals for its Batchers’ Straight Bourbon Cask Strength Whiskey and Litchfield Distillery Gin, a Bronze medal for its Litchfield Distillery Straight Bourbon Whiskey and an Individual Award as Connecticut Distillery of the Year. Glastonbury-based NCCGA of CT earned a Double Gold medal for Vincenzi Bellini Peach Apertivo; a Silver medal for Vincenzi Bicerin Hazelnut di Gianduiotto; an Individual Award for Apertivo of the Year, Vincenzi Bellini Peach Apertivo; and an Individual Award for Italy Cream Liqueur of the Year, Vincenzi Bicerin. Proof and Wood Ventures Inc. of New Canaan earned a Gold medal for The Justice 14 Year Old Barrel Proof Bourbon, a Silver medal for its Exodus Rum and a Silver medal for The Senator Barrel Proof 6 Years Straight Rye Whiskey. Submissions from Savona Communications of Norwalk earned a Gold medal for Beam Suntory The Tyrconnell Single Malt Irish Whiskey, a Silver medal for Beam Suntory Hibiki Japanese Harmony Whisky and a Silver medal for Beam Suntory Kilbeggan Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey. The NYISC is part of the International Beverage Competition series.
