Legal Matters: DCP Issue Note to Conn. Wholesalers in Wake of Feb. Storm

By February 4, 2014Connecticut, Top News

The Department of Consumer Protection Liquor Control Division issued a statement due to the impact of current weather conditions dated February 4, 2014.

Wholesalers and 30 Day Credit Issue

With the snowfall projected for tomorrow, some wholesalers may not open and deliveries may be suspended on Wednesday.  It is also possible that some liquor retailers will remain closed.

The department will not pursue administrative action against wholesalers for delivering product to retailers on Thursday, February 6th even if the retailer has invoice(s) coming 30 days due on Wednesday, February 5, 2014.  This is due to the projected inclement weather conditions, which may result in delivery and office operations being closed/canceled due to such weather.  This deferment of administrative charges is not precedent setting and applies to this unique set of facts and circumstances.

The Department of Consumer Protection, through the State Liquor Control Commission, oversees all sales of liquor in the State of Connecticut.
