WHAT: Created more than 31 years ago and hosted by the RI Hospitality Association and RI Hospitality Education Foundation annually to recognize those in the restaurant and hospitality industries, the Stars of the Industry awards and annual meeting event celebrates the best in the hospitality community on Dec. 6, 2023 at the Providence Performing Arts Center. There are more than 20 categories, with 2-3 nominations per category. Recipients are nominated by their bosses, co-workers and even their customers. Categories include Restaurant Employee of the Year, Tourism Employee of the Year, Bartender of the Year Emerging Leader of the Year and more, Winners are voted on by the public and elected officials of the RIHA Board, receiving a trophy to take home.
