Fairfield craft cocktail lounge J.B. Percival Co., in collaboration with Murphy Distributors, hosted a tasting featuring Hercules Mulligan Rum & Rye on May 3. Patrons were treated to tastings and specialty event cocktails created by Bartenders John Raffaghello and Xiomara Esquivel featuring Hercules Mulligan Rum & Rye, which included the HM Old Fashioned, the Mulligan Mule, the Mulligan Sour and the Colonial Courage. Named after a Manhattan haberdasher and spy from the American Revolution who served a similar tipple to his customers while eavesdropping on British soldiers for the Revolutionaries, Hercules Mulligan Rum & Rye is a unique blend of three aged rye whiskeys, three aged Caribbean rums, bitters and ginger, resulting in a complex and delightful spirit.
