Sarah Hedges Goedhart was named head winemaker of Hedges Family Estates, located in the Red Mountain AVA of Washington State. Goedhart is the daughter of the winery founders, Tom and Anne-Marie Hedges, and succeeds her uncle, Pete Hedges. Hedges Goedhart worked with her husband Brent at Preston Winery of Dry Creek in Sonoma County, and in 2006, she began working at Hedges Family Estates as the assistant winemaker. She received a certificate in enology from Washington State University in 2010. “The family’s goal is to create an environment where people feel the energy of the place, whether it’s through drinking our wine or walking through our vineyards,” said Hedges Goedhart.
