Litchfield Distillery hosted a cocktail tasting and bartending competition featuring its Batchers’ Agave Spirits at the Heritage Hotel in Southbury on March 19 for a St. Patrick’s Day-themed event. The afternoon began with a tasting where guests were invited to sample cocktails created by 10 regional bartenders featuring Litchfield Distillery Batchers’ Agave Spirits. Then, each bartender re-created their cocktails onstage for a panel of judges: Caitlin Carbonell, Lucas Local; Peter Baker, Co-owner, Litchfield Distillery; and Douglas Maloney, Brand Ambassador, Litchfield Distillery. The winners were Jimmy Oca, Wally’s Wieners, Newport, Rhode Island, with his cocktail Mexican Ginger Espresso Martini, and Shayne Bingham, Marygold’s on Main, with his cocktail The Fisherman’s Blues.
