A team from MD&S Distributors visited Cava producer Vallformosa, traveling to Spain this spring and touring the winery’s operations, vineyards and caves. Vallformosa is a family-run wine cellar established in Vilobí del Penedès, Barcelona, Spain, making wines since 1865. It makes its Spanish sparkling wines under the Cava, Penedès and Catalunya designation of origins. Its wines are made using high levels of product quality control, from the vineyard to the bottle, and it also makes 100% of the grape must used for all of its products. Exported to more than 50 countries worldwide, MD&S Distributors offers its Gran Barón Cava Brut and Cava Brut Rosado (Rosé) in Connecticut.

Cava Vallformosa barrels in the cellar, or cave, which has been preserved since its founding date in 1865. The family maintains what used to be the primary wine cellar as a museum to show the public its history.
