Monsieur Touton Selection, Ltd., and Maurertown, Virginia’s Filibuster Distillery hosted a wine and spirits evening with approximately 40 retailers from central Connecticut at award-winning Haveli India in Middletown on Nov. 8. The evening provided an opportunity to sample Touton wines and Filibuster bourbons, including private barrel offerings and limited-release expressions. Filibuster Distillery was launched in the heart of Washington, D.C., and created in the Shenandoah Valley. Shravan Dilawri, Partner and Co-founder, Filibuster Distillery, who began the venture with his two brothers, was raised in the liquor business. Their parents are successful retailers with a store just steps from Capitol Hill. The three started a distillery, fittingly named Filibuster, with the mission to create the ultimate bourbon, with a now-successful business turning the first-generation immigrant family’s passion project into an American dream. Guests tasted through several expressions, with the star of the evening its latest release, Filibuster Bottled in Bond Virginia Straight Bourbon. The limited-release bourbon is crafted using the finest Shenandoah Valley grains and water. Filibuster’s spirits, all of which offer unique qualities from their aging processes, are newly available throughout Connecticut via Monsieur Touton Selection.
