As first place winner of the 2012 Connecticut “Most Inspired Bartender Competition” by GQ magazine and Bombay Sapphire gin, Joe Aceto of Diesel Lounge in New Haven, wins a trip to Las Vegas to compete nationally and a spot in GQ.

Aceto’s Winning Recipe:
2 oz. Bombay Sapphire gin
.25 oz. Orange Curacao
4 oz. Hibiscus Tea
2 oz. fresh lemon sour
Top with Prosecco
Serve in a wine glass filled with ice and garnished with lemon slices
The August event was held at Ultra 88 at the Mohegan Sun. David Roth, chapter president of the United States Bartender’s Guild (USBG-CT) took second place. Patrick Youngquist from Max Fish took third.
