Murphy Distributors was selected as the Winner for the 2021 Best of Branford Awards in the category of Wholesaler. The Branford Award Program was created to honor and generate public recognition of the positive contributions of local businesses and organizations. The award program’s mission is to raise the profile of exemplary companies and entrepreneurs among the press, the business community and the general public. Murphy Distributors was founded by President Matthew Murphy in 2008 with the vision of serving retail and restaurant clients in ways that would help them build their own businesses success and brands. The Murphy team has also helped raise funds for multiple charitable organizations through The Murphy Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) division of Murphy Distributors. One such effort was a statewide charity sales program in collaboration with Cure Rare Disease (CRD), a Boston-area charitable organization dedicated to fueling research for rare diseases and offering support to families, such as the Herzog family, whose son, who is also Murphy’s nephew and godson, was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy in 2016. “I am honored to be a part of this year’s award recipients,” Murphy said. “Every day we strive to better people’s lives, whether it be through helping our customers grow their business through the beverage company or the Murphy Foundation’s work with the Herzog family and CRD to revolutionize rare disease treatments, one life at a time.”
