On-Premise Operators Surveyed Coronavirus Operations

A Nielsen survey of 100 U.S. C-suite executives, owners and operators of bars and restaurants showed that only 11% of operators have been able to generate sustainable profits through solely a takeout/delivery business during pandemic operations. Sixty percent of operators said that reduced fees from third-party delivery platforms would make this element of their business more sustainable, but 52% said they will continue offering takeout/delivery once they are allowed to reopen, as it is expected that demand for these services will continue. More than half of operators anticipate reducing their range of both food and drinks until service levels reach substantiable levels. Only 35% of operators surveyed expect they will keep all of the usual brands stocked pre-COVID-19.
