The Savory Grape in East Greenwich and Johnson Brothers of Rhode Island hosted a Skype tasting and visit with Savage & Cooke Distillery’s Master Distiller Jordan Via on March 4. Distillery Owner Dave Phinney of the famed Orin Swift Wines created the Savage & Cooke whiskey line with Via overseeing production of Lip Service 3-Year Rye Whiskey, Burning Chair Bourbon and Second Glance American Whiskey. Via spoke with guests from the Mare Island, California, distillery, presenting the brand, whiskey expressions and attributes as guests enjoyed the interactive session. After the event’s live portion, guests enjoyed a private barrel-blending session.
