In May, Jessica Granatiero, Owner of East Greenwich’s The Savory Grape and The Savory Affair, along with Kaitlyn Roberts, Owner of Providence’s Easy Entertaining, led “Savoring Italy,” a trip to the renowned northern region of Piedmont, part of the pair’s ongoing food and wine tour collaborations. Guests on the trip stayed at The Estate of Luigi Einaudi, which is also home to the Luigi Einaudi Winery in Dogliani, a region known for producing Dolcetto. Highlights included tours and tastes of Marchesi di Barolo and dinner with Owner Anna Abbona, as well as a visit to Piazzo Winery with a homemade pasta lunch prepared by Gemma Armando and dinner with Owner Franco Allario. The tours are group travels with access to meet vineyard owners and renowned chefs, during which Roberts offers cooking classes and demos while Granatiero provides educational wine tastings. Granatiero and Roberts are currently planning next year’s tours to Piedmont and Tuscany.
