Wine Cellar Outlet Hosts Holiday Wine Tasting

The Wine Cellar Outlet in Wallingford hosted an in-store holiday tasting for customers on Dec. 16. During two tasting sessions during the afternoon, Billy L. Smith, Sales, The Wine Cellar Outlet poured tastes of top-rated holiday wines available through the store’s Cellar Collection, including GFF Zinfandel, made from grapes grown in Lodi, and boasting flavors of blackberry and currants with a hint of spice, oak and vanilla; Mario Ercolino Saserello, a bold and medium-bodied blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from Sicily, offering flavors of plum and cherry, and a hint of oak at the finish; Flor de San Martin Garnacha Blanca, a Spanish wine with floral and citrus notes on the nose and layers of fruit flavors from ripe green fruits, orchard fruits and lime; and La Reine Chardonnay, an unoaked selection with notes of apricot, pear and key lime, balanced with a slightly acidic minerality. Shoppers enjoyed sale prices on featured wines, along with case discounts on wines from the Cellar Collection.
